I am so glad I have all four of these photos. I thought I lost all but one. I intend on getting a four-panel print of this for my home eventually.

All human beings by nature stretch themselves out toward knowing. A sign of this is our love of the senses; for even apart from their use, they are loved on their own account, and above all the rest, the one through the eyes…the cause is that, among the senses, this one most of all makes us discover things, and makes evident many differences.

The telos of the written word is not primarily in it’s content. That’s absurd. It’s end is in it’s underlying message: that the world can be understood, logical, coherent.
The value of the printed word is not solely in it’s content. It has a message in it’s own right.
